History
Pauline Seymour began her legal career at one of The Bahamas’ leading law firms, establishing a practice in financial services and litigation. Her early work in corporate law, banking law, securities law, regulatory compliance, corporate advisory services and trust litigation ensured she was well placed to provide support to international banks and trust companies as counsel and compliance manager in various banks and trust companies and as trust legal counsel and drafting team lead for the international wealth management business at a Spanish bank. Her role as an executive, regulatory lead and head of wholesale commercial business at the country’s largest telecommunications company and a utilities sector regulator allowed her to practice in the compliance, regulatory and competition spaces in the telecommunications and energy sectors. Pauline found that her areas of expertise complemented each other which made her eager to cultivate a practice that would be an effective intersect of her expertise and interests. With the establishment of Bailey & Cortes Pauline is able to leverage her experiences in financial services, information communications technology along with the negotiation and policy development skills honed while representing the Bahamas at world-wide ICT and telecommunications sector meetings to add value to her clients’ matters and ventures. As a result Bailey & Cortes is able to offer a unique set of skills in emerging areas of practice in the Bahamas. Pauline believes that what wins a case, ensures the success of a pursuit or makes a business thrive is the passion that drives each. Choosing to specialize in a field means, developing expertise in emerging areas of law and forging a new path that you are completely devoted to requires dedication. That is what sets Bailey & Cortes apart.
Bailey & Cortes opened its doors in 2019. The firm’s exceptional level of enthusiasm, dedication, and nuanced perspective make it the holistic solution for clients.
